Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was released in 1992 to critical acclaim. It is often regarded as better than Sonic 1, and better than CD. It is often dubbed as one of the best classic Sonic games. It was developed by Sega Technical Institute (STI) for the Sega Genesis (Mega Drive outside of the US), and development was led by Yuji Naka, the man behind Sonic 1, Sonic 3&K, Sonic Adventure, and Sonic Adventure 2. Just to name a few of his prime examples.
